Mindsight is an applied area of perceptual research focused on how perception can function when standard visual input is reduced and internal state is regulated.
Mindsight typically presents in stages.
In its early or intuitive stage, perception does not always appear as imagery. For many individuals, it initially presents as spatial awareness, contrast, flashes, outlines, or non-visual knowing.
With appropriate conditions and continued practice, perceptual access may become more stable and develop into a real-time stage, where perception functions continuously in a manner comparable to ordinary sight. This often begins as a small or partial perceptual window and gradually expands over time.
Our work focuses on identifying the conditions that support this progression and on training perceptual stability and reliability.
Mindsight is approached as a trainable perceptual skill, not a special ability.
